Scott & Brigit Bogard - Founders of Victory Christian Academy
Scott and Brigit Bogard, the founders of Uvita Christian Academy in the town of Uvita, Costa Rica, are proud to bring Victory Christian Academy to the community of Perez Zeledon! They first began to dream about a Christian school for the families of San Isidro in 2015, after their school in Uvita had been operating successfully for a few years. In fact, they felt God was asking them to start a second school! They just didn’t know the exact timing. Over the next couple of years, God began to talk with them about taking serious steps in that direction.
Brigit comments, “Christian education isn’t ONLY for Christian people - the excellent education we offer reaches out to ANY parent searching for top quality, and the best opportunities in life for their children. That’s who we are.”
Scott and Brigit both have background in business and education from their time living in the United States. Scott studied business at the university level, and Brigit studied communications and Spanish. Before moving to Costa Rica, they owned a private tutoring company in the state of Indiana, and Brigit worked at a local elementary school teaching English as a second language. They also spent 5 years pastoring a local church, and traveled the globe doing world missions. They make their home in the quaint community of Uvita, with their two children. They love Costa Rica! Their passion is bringing excellence in education to the country of Costa Rica.

Joana Izhar Alvarenga - Administrator
After completing primary school studies in Canada and secondary school at a bilingual school, she pursued a Basic General Education Teaching degree and gained work experience in Christian Bilingual education.
“Becoming a member of the Victory Christian Academy community represents more than just joining a school; it's a beautiful experience of faith and love. As a unified community, we strive to glorify God and inspire future generations through our teachings. My teaching philosophy aligns with the Academy's objectives, and I aspire to contribute to a team that continually develops and evolves, ready to tackle new educational challenges each day. One of my objectives is to keep a positive environment where children can learn and grow, while providing them with ongoing support.”

Francella Calderón Selva - Daycare Assistant
I studied I and II primary and Special Education at UNED, because I like working with children. The opportunity to work at Victory Christian Academy has been a pleasant experience, since every day is a new learning opportunity at school. I would like to quote:
“Learning is a simple appendix of ourselves, wherever we are, so is our learning” William Shakespeare.

Karleth María Retana Picado - Daycare Teacher
I have more than one year working at the Victory Christian Academy school, a place where I have had the opportunity to practice my English skills. At Victory I have found a place where I have not only grown professionally, but I have also gotten to know a work team, which has become like a family to me.
My experience with my students has been very nice and fulfilling , since not only they have learned from me as a teacher, but I have learned a lot from them.

Joyce Ocalin Salazar Aldi - Kindergarten Teacher
Joyce studied at the National University of Costa Rica. She is passionate about her work, she shows her students every day with great affection to develop our wonderful program at Victory. She sees each day as the best opportunity to plant in children not only academic knowledge and learning, but also recognizing the possibility of empowering them with high values that will lead them to be distinguished and outstanding people in a society. She is the mother of two teenagers, who have taught her that something wonderful is learned every day when you know how to motivate and stimulate them; at the same time, cherish each stage of their lives. God is your strongest pillar; and he knows that wisdom and intelligence are reinforced every day, forming in children their spirit of adventure, love, faith and self-confidence.
